Changing the Unit of Measurement on Flex
Flex shows distance, elevation, and speed in either metric (km, m, km/h) or imperial (mi, ft, mph). You can switch anytime, and the change applies across the app right away.
How to Change Your Unit
- Go to Flex Settings.
- Tap Unit System in Preference section.
- Choose your preferred unit of measurement, either Metric or Imperial.
Your choice applies immediately throughout the app.
WARNING
You can't change your unit while a ride is in progress. Finish your ride first, then switch.
What Changes
Switching only changes how values are displayed, including:
- The live ride dashboard (speed, distance, elevation, remaining range)
- Ride summaries, statistics, and your activity history
- Weekly goals and the goal ring
- Rankings and milestones
Your rides are not changed. Flex stores your ride data the same way and only converts it for display, so your history and totals stay accurate.
What Happens to Your Weekly Goal
If your weekly goal is set in distance or elevation, switching units converts the goal to the new unit and rounds it to a whole number:
- If you have not finished this week's goal yet, the new target is rounded up, so a goal you have not reached is not marked complete just because of the unit change.
- If you have already finished this week's goal, the new target is rounded down, so your goal ring does not move backward.
Flex shows you the new goal value after you switch. Calorie and time goals are not affected.
Milestones and Past Achievements
Milestones are tracked in metric and shown with the metric value first, with the imperial value alongside. A "Weekly Goal Completed" achievement keeps the unit it had when you earned it, so older achievements stay the same even after you switch.
